Asentria provides a full range of hardware and software tools to manage the passive elements at a Base Transceiver Station (BTS or cell site) location. Passive monitoring refers to the monitoring of a cell site for power, security, and environmental issues that might affect the service providing communication equipment located within the site. The purpose of Asentria's products is to reduce the costs of operating the communication network. This is accomplished by reducing the frequency and length of network outages caused by power, security, or environmental issues. If an outage does occur, service personnel can be dispatched with valuable data regarding what problems they may encounter once they reach the site.
Asentria units are capable of monitoring and managing a variety of environmental related issues at remote communication sites, such as BTS, eNodeB's, or microwave sites. Asentria has many possible combinations of solutions that can be created from our standard product offering.
Asentria units can provide a large variety of methods for monitoring temperature. Temp sensors can be placed within base SiteBoss units, or as peripherals offering monitoring of temperature in a distributed fashion. Sensors are available for both indoor and outdoor applications. Combined temperature/humidity sensors are also available.

Asentria units can interface to smoke detectors via a simple contact closure. Smoke detectors are available with a variety of input power to suit the requirements of the particular remote communication site.
Asentria units can monitor HVAC equipment in a variety of ways. Simple monitoring via contact closures or via an airflow sensor and temp sensor combination is possible. More evolved energy saving applications can be created by having the SiteBoss units measure temperatures inside and outside an enclosure, and make decisions on HVAC usage based on these readings.
